When I can, I play squash once a week. My partner is better than I am, and I enjoy the epic battle when we meet.
In this heat, it can be more challenging than usual.
Today, though, I lost the first game as usual 4 - 9.
Surprisingly, I won the second 9 - 3.
My right knee started to ache. I did a long session at the gym yesterday - the first time in a while - and a five mile walk this morning. I hope it's just that.
I've had problems with my knees before, but it's been fine.
I took the third game 9 - 0 which shocked us both, especially the way I nailed the last point.
We stopped straight after, although we still had time on the clock. My knee was throbbing but, more importantly, my partner was off his game.
It was fun - but felt easier than normal. I shouldn't complain, but I know I haven suddenly improved.
I hope he's okay.
Today's question: what's good (apart from R.I.C.E.) for a sore knee?
