I had a meeting with the school council yesterday, and something amusing happened.
(Regular viewers will know that I threatened a number of amusing anecdotes from yesterday, and here is another...)
They had done a survey to look at the Internet usage of the children at the school and how many go on line unsupervised and how many talk to strangers. They were shocked by the number.
One of the Year 6s - lets just call him M to save his blushes - said, "Of course, when I was in Year 4, we didn't have tablets like they do now..."
I repeated what he said and he realised how it sounded and we all had a good chuckle.
He's now called (affectionately) Grandad!
Today's questions: do you let your child talk to strangers on line unsupervised? How do you know they're not doing it whilst your distracted reading this? Stop! Stop reading this! Go check on your kids! Go! Why are you still here...?
